That pun is totally courtesy of my mom 😀 I will be spending the weekend alternately wishing I was with my family eating ham and setting down my revision schedule for novel A. I want the revision done by the end of the month, preferably by the 19th as I will be attending the WRW retreat and would like a finished product to offer to any agents who might be interested. Ideally, I’d like to have the book completely revised in two weeks or less. I want to hit that edit rate partially because I felt like the second half of the rewrite was more cohesive for doing in bigger chunks. As novel A is currently running at 28 chapters, I’ll need to revise at least two chapters a day. There is one chapter that basically needs to be rewritten rather than just revised, so I know that will screw my schedule up a bit. If I go in accepting that, I should still hit my preferable target of the 19th with time to spare.
Speaking of the WRW retreat, I will be part of a panel presentation at the Westminster Library in Westminster, MD from 1:30 to 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 21st. Joining me will be Leigh Duncan, Diane Gaston, and Kimberly Kincaid. We’ll be answering questions on a wide range of topics, so I hope you’ll join us! I’ll have copies of Duty and Desire available for sale and signing after the presentation.
