Last night, I went to an outdoor showing of The Princess Bride. I can’t begin to tell you how much I love this movie. It hits all of the buttons for me. I was telling one of my friends while the credits were rolling that part of why I love the movie so much is the soundtrack, especially the theme song by Mark Knopfler. To this day, I remember waltzing around my dorm room in college when I finally got my hands on the CD of it. It was the song that I one day dreamed would be the song of my first dance with my future husband at my wedding. I said on the Facebook page last night that TPB was one of the formative movies from my childhood on the concept of romance–the other being The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming (oh, Alexei!). What movies stuck with you as being the most romantic?
