I’m writing this from a plane because I ran out of time last night to write the post and schedule it to go up. I’m heading to Chicago for a short vacation with the family. We’re going to be heading to our neighbor’s lake house for the weekend. The men will be celebrating the start of summer tomorrow with all day golf. I don’t golf, mainly because I get frustrated when my shots don’t go where I want them (usually the ball stays on the tee because I whiffed big time), and I end up wanting to pound the ball into the ground with the club.
This is not going to be a vacation from writing however. I intend to continue writing a thousand words a day on Project Ulna. Last night I broke through the 20,000 word mark on the manuscript. Today I’ve gotten about 750 words written so far, and will be writing more when I get to my parents. Later tonight, I’ll be revising Project Fibula so I can submit it to the anthology editor it’s for. The great thing is my family supports my writing. However, it can be tough to carve out time to do so since I don’t see them on a regular basis any more and feel like I need to cram in as much bonding time as I can when I’m home. Either way, I should be back from vacation with another 5000 words added to PU, and probably a bad sunburn 😀
How do you like to spend your summer vacations?
