NEWS

So much happening! Bound to Love released last Monday from Ocean's Mist Press. Cimmerean League: Revelations will be releasing next week from Amber Heat as part of The Lusty League Amber Pax. I sold another story to Phaze! Squee!!! The Man from HATHOR currently has a tentative release date of January 2007. I'll announce further details on the blog and in upcoming newsletters.

I'm about to burrow down and work on a story to submit to Amber Heat for an upcoming shapeshifter Amber Pax. Diving back into the world of the Cimmerean League means some hot and tense moments are ahead. That's right, I'm planning to write three more stories of the Cimmerean League. It's my first full on attempt at a series. I hope I can do them justice!

With it being October, one of my favorite holidays of the year is just around the corner. I hope that you get few tricks, and many, many treats (even if they are of the tricky kind <wink>) in your Halloween basket!

Engagingly yours,
Kelly

4 Flags from Euro-Reviews

Kelly Maher is a creative and talented author. Her eloquent writing style creates atmosphere and sets the mood beautifully. The love scenes were hot and the family jewels erotic in their decadent manner of use. This is a great short, sexy, hot story that I recommend reading.

Spring Storm cover When county trooper Aiden Loughlin rescues Gwyn Murphy from a ditch during a thunderstorm, sparks really do fly! You can buy Spring Storm now from Phaze!

Spring Storm is a fun and exciting read. With just a touch of otherworldly influence, and much more than a touch of great storytelling and sensual magic, I truly enjoyed meeting Gwyn and Aiden.

4 Magical Wands from Enchanted Ramblings

An enjoyable short read filled with two strong, passionate characters and great sex, I recommend this story for a perfect lunchtime fix of romance and hot action!

Morgana's life lately has been peppered by bad luck. Her luck's about to change.

READING RECS

This month's recommendations from me are audiobooks. I spend a lot of time in my car commuting for my day job and some weeks, an audiobook is the only thing that prevents road rage attacks. These two authors, along with their readers, are always on my "To Be Listened To" list.

Angels Fall by Nora Roberts, read by Joyce Bean - Reece Gilmore is a woman on the run from her past. She sets up shop in Angel Falls, Wyoming, determined to stay when a madman decides she's unwanted.

Twelve Sharp by Janet Evanovich, read by Lorelei King - The latest installmentin the Stephanie Plum series, Stephanie discovers she's the object of desire for a psycho who's decided to take over Ranger's life.

I have one more special reading recommendation from me. Full disclaimer, as she's a friend of mine, but her books are truly enjoyable!

From London with Love by Jenna Petersen - The first in her Lady Spies series, Jenna pits Lady Meredith Sinclair against Tristan Archer, Marquis of Carmichael. He once saved Meredith's life, but now he may cause the destruction of everything she believes in. As I've heard Jenna describe the series, think of "Charlie's Angels" in the Regency Period.

And on to our member recommendations! Thanks very much to JENNY and JOY for participating!!

From Jenny:

Dancing with his Heart by Katherine Warwick - Dancing With His Heart brings independent Lauren Peay together with her old nemesis, Alex Saunders. Playboy, and philanthropist, Alex offers first class sponsorship to Lauren and her dance partner. Given their past, Lauren is suspicious. Without resources, the single mother of a child with autism is forced to take Alex's offer. His plan is to prove that he's changed and win her heart. But trust is not easily won and Lauren faces more trouble when a dark figure from their past shows up with devious intentions for them both.

From Joy:

A Reason to Live by Maureen McKade - Wow what a good book. I usually don't read the western type but my neighbor told me how good it was. The author writes with compassion and love in a different way than most romance authors. Her characters were believable and there was snappy dialogue. I am a new fan of this writer.

SPECIAL FEATURE

Have you ever considered writing a novel? Think you don't have the time? What if you didn't have to write one the size of Outlander by Diana Gabaldon? Think you could maybe handle one the length of say...Daring Young Man by Leigh Ellwood? How about if you only had a month to write it in? Got your interest? National Novel Writing Month (aka NaNoWriMo or NaNo) happens in November. It can be extremely interesting. The novel I currently have under consideration at Ellora's Cave was my winning novel for NaNo 2004. Originator Chris Baty says:

As you spend November writing, you can draw comfort from the fact that, all around the world, other National Novel Writing Month participants are going through the same joys and sorrows of producing the Great Frantic Novel. Wrimos meet throughout the month to offer encouragement, commiseration, and -- when the thing is done -- the kind of raucous celebrations that tend to frighten animals and small children. -- From the "What is NaNoWriMo?" About page

NaNoWriMo also has a charitable arm. They fundraise every year. First to cover the expenses of running NaNoWriMo. Secondly, every penny over and above expenses goes to a yearly cause. The last few years have gone to building libraries in Southeast Asia. In 2004 it was Cambodia, in 2005, Laos. This year's benefit country is Vietnam. Even if you don't participate as a writer, consider participating as a donor.
