NEWS

Is it hot in here? You bet it is! Not only is it hot and humid where I live, it's getting downright steamy in my world. I got home from the Romance Writers of America conference a week ago as I write this and it feels like yesterday, and a year ago, at the same time. It was a ton of fun and I got to see friends, old and new. I miss them already!

Right before I left, I signed a contract with Amber Heat for my submission for the upcoming Lusty League Amber Pax you read about in the last newsletter. As a refresher, the title is Cimmerean League: Revelations. Here's a quick blurb:

As a member of the personal security force of the leader of the Cimmerean League, Bolt is known for his super strength. When the life of the woman he has lusted after is endangered, he must reveal to her his secret ability, the ability to connect with her psychically. As the only known empath employed by the Cimmerean League, Vie can amplify and enhance any of the other member's abilities. Due to her powers, she has never been able to let go and just enjoy being with a person, until Bolt forces his way into her life and heart. When an enemy from the past rises like the fabled Phoenix, it is only by working together that they, and the League, can survive.

The tentative release date is October 2006. My fellow Indulge Author, Sherrill Quinn is also going to have a story, Obsidian's Flame, as part of this Amber Pax. I'm squeeing in delight!

Well, I'm not only squeeing over being in the Pax with Sherrill, I'm also squeeing over the review I got from Kerin over at EuroReviews for Family Jewels. She made me blush!

A regularly scheduled release of the monthly newsletter would be nice, wouldn't it? Since I seem to have a problem with getting things done by the first of the month, I'm going to shoot for having this out on the 15th of every month. That way you're not loaded down too much either :)

I'm looking forward to bringing you more engaging erotic fiction in the upcoming months, so stay tuned!

Engagingly yours,
Kelly

4 Flags from Euro-Reviews

Kelly Maher is a creative and talented author. Her eloquent writing style creates atmosphere and sets the mood beautifully. The love scenes were hot and the family jewels erotic in their decadent manner of use. This is a great short, sexy, hot story that I recommend reading.

Spring Storm is a fun and exciting read. With just a touch of otherworldly influence, and much more than a touch of great storytelling and sensual magic, I truly enjoyed meeting Gwyn and Aiden.

An enjoyable short read filled with two strong, passionate characters and great sex, I recommend this story for a perfect lunchtime fix of romance and hot action!

CONTEST

Since no family members near to me seem to be home, I called up my brother who's living across the country from me at the moment and had him pick a number out of the virtual hat. The winner of last month's contest for a goodie bag of books and other accoutrements that I picked up at the RWA conference is:

lonelyone97405

Congratulations lonelyone97405! E-mail me at kellymaher{at}gmail.com with your mailing address!

I'll be posting a contest later this month to my blog, so watch there for the details!

INDULGE AUTHORS NEWS

Not much to report this month, other than we've all been busy as beavers. Anna J. Evans, Sherrill Quinn and I are prepping an erotica/erotic romance anthology for a partial submission to a New York publisher, so wish us luck!

Also, I'm still posting sections of my story, By the Book, every third Monday to the Indulge Authors blog. Here's a very quick blurb:

Morgana's life lately has been peppered by bad luck. Her luck's about to change.

READING RECS

Remember how I caught up on my TBR pile last month? This month, not so much. Luckily, the one book I did manage to read was wonderful! I'm also including some of my standby favorites for when I get into a reading slump :)

Dark Side of the Moon by Sherrilyn Kenyon - the latest in her Dark-Hunter series moves to Seattle and the surprises just keep on coming.

Mercy by Julie Garwood - Fun and frisky romantic suspense. Kind of weird to describe romantic suspense like that, but it is!

Northern Lights by Nora Roberts - A past thought long dead comes back to life as the new Sheriff in town learns what it means to live. **I adore the audio version of this book!

Now You See Her by Linda Howard - The original "I see dead people." With some really *hot* and *steamy* scenes.

SPECIAL FEATURE

This month's feature is courtesy of my love for Trader Joe's Triple Ginger Snaps.

Ginger has long been associated with the fabled class of food known as aphrodisiacs. Other foods with this alleged quality include oysters, asparagus, almonds, bananas and many more. Most thought on why these foods gained such a reputation is because of their inherent nutritional qualities which was lacking in the majority of ancient, and not so ancient, diets.

If you'd like to explore the world of "aphrodisiacs" visit Gourmet Slueth as they've compiled an interesting list of both foods and recipes.
